Italy Group Tours: the Real All-In Cost from 8 US Airports (October 2026 departures)
The real all-in cost of an Italian group tour this October is remarkably democratic: across eight US airports, coast to coast, the median tour-plus-flights total lands between €2,584 (New York JFK) and €2,837 (Los Angeles) — a spread of just €253. We computed 273 genuine totals to get there. Each one is a real, bookable October 2026 departure from the TourRadar catalogue plus the cheapest sensible return flights from that airport on matching dates, priced live on Kiwi.com.
The other headline is what the Atlantic costs in October: not much. The median return fare from JFK was €516 — one-fifth of the all-in total — and even the dearest median of the eight (Dallas–Fort Worth, €776) is barely over a quarter of the bill. So it's the tour, not the flight, that decides what Italy costs you. Every figure below was computed from live prices on the date shown; nothing is an estimate.

What the numbers say
New York is the bargain gateway and it isn't close: a €516 median return fare, with Boston next at €641. But the more useful finding is the flatness. On median totals, living in Seattle costs you about €165 more than living in New York; Los Angeles, the dearest, is €253 more. For Japan, the airport you start from moves the flight bill by hundreds of euros — for Italy in October, geography is nearly free.
The West Coast order isn't what you'd guess, either: Seattle's median total (€2,749) came in below both San Francisco (€2,809) and Los Angeles (€2,837). And the floor is national. The cheapest bookable combination from every single one of the eight airports was the same tour — a five-day Naples, Sorrento and Amalfi Coast itinerary at €873 — which puts Italy's entry price at €1,417 to €1,633 all-in, flights included, depending on where you start.
Sample honesty: Seattle (28 combinations), Miami (30) and Boston (32) priced slightly fewer than the 37 we managed elsewhere, thanks to brief provider blips during collection. We publish the smaller real sample rather than pad it.
Every figure above was computed, not quoted — the same live engine that powers our search assembled each total from a real tour departure and real bookable fares. The full recipe, including what's excluded, is on the methodology page.
FAQs
What does the all-in total include?
The per-person price of a specific, bookable October 2026 departure plus the cheapest return flights from that airport that arrive by the tour's first day and leave on or after its last. It excludes visas, insurance, tips, most meals, and single supplements — full details on the methodology page.
Which US airport is cheapest for an Italy tour?
New York JFK, on both measures that matter: the lowest median all-in total (€2,584) and by far the cheapest median return fare (€516). That said, the whole table spans just €253 — Italy is close to airport-agnostic in October.
Why October 2026 specifically?
It's about three months out from our collection date — a realistic booking window — and it's Italy's shoulder season. These numbers describe October 2026 departures only; we make no claims about July, Christmas, or any other month until we've collected them.
Are these prices still accurate today?
